Teaching
I have helped develop and teach courses related to developmental, social, and cognitive psychology, in addition to statistics and research methods (see courses below). My training as a cognitive scientist instilled in me the value of interdisciplinary perspectives, and my teaching incorporates perspectives from adjacent fields (e.g., sociology, education, philosophy, linguistics).
I enjoy teaching statistics in both formal and informal settings. My own journey with statistics motivated me to teach psychological statistics and methods in a way that embraces theory while connecting statistical tools to the real-world problems they can be used to understand. My goal is to help students come to enjoy statistics and to create inclusive classrooms that support groups of students that are historically and currently underrepresented in quantitative fields and academia broadly.
I have helped lead efforts to combat gendered participation in class (through a teaching grant funded by the Cornell Center for Teaching Innovation) and have embraced learning to facilitate dialogue across difference as a central component of my pedagogical training (as a facilitator for Cornell's Intergroup Dialogue Project).

Mentoring
My own academic journey has been defined by working with mentors with whom I could relate. Mentoring undergraduate, master's, and more junior Ph.D. students from diverse identities and lived experiences has been the highlight of my academic career thus far.
I have mentored undergraduate and master's theses, brought mentees to national conferences, and am currently writing three papers with student co-authors. I am deeply proud of my mentees' accomplishments and of the diverse paths they have gone on to pursue. Here are some examples of what my former trainees are doing now:
+ Jason Hamm is a front-end developer for Scilligence
+ Reut Shachnai is pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology at Yale University
+ Medina Keita is a clinical research coordinator at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
+ Cassidy Wolfe is pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of California–Irvine
+ Paola Ocampo is a speech pathologist at NYU Langone Hospital
+ Kyra Hunsberger is pursuing an M.D. at the University of Arizona Medical School
+ Charlotte Borgers is a senior finance & operations management associate at Northwell Health
+ Chukwuka Okoro is pursuing an M.D. at The Ohio State University College of Medicine
+ Kristin Quill is a lead dietician at Equip
+ Carolyn Todd is pursuing a Psy.D. at Pace University
